A MAN who was shot by a drive-by gunman will spend the rest of his life with 51 pellets inside his body, a court has been told.

Russell Muir, 42, was having a cigarette outside the Royal George Hotel at Nambour, on the Sunshine Coast, in February last year when he was sprayed with pellets from Guy Anthony Ozanne's sawn-off shotgun, the Supreme Court in Brisbane was told today.

The court was told Mr Ozanne had fired the gun from the window of his girlfriend's car in an attempt to hit 29-year-old Michael McCoy, who he had argued with inside the pub only minutes earlier.
