Thank you

How much does it cost? Roughly? I've just had a quick look at that site and it says you have to pay for an annual licence :think:

Thanks for the link

Happiness is the sound of rain cascading onto a colo(u)rbond roof at night and hearing it still trickling into the tank in the morning.

Simple pleasures. Should happen tonight here too if the forecast is right ...

On the subject on self-sufficiency we have just purchased a 'firebrick maker', just add newpapers, water, compress and leave to dry.

In fact, the Courier Mail probably doesn't actually need to be read, just shred it and chuck it straight into the machine ...

HSTP servicing can be from $150 per year.

hstp=home sewerage treatment plant
if you ever ever buy and have installed a hstp... we had the dogs bollocks on last place.

Sand bed filtration, triggered computerised switching.. so only kicked in when needed, and fully automated sprinkling.

About 15 grand installed if i recall.

council can and will do spot inspections, to check treatment quality, ours on this place failed.. to high in macrothingies.. had servicing chick back out, n all sorted.

There are limitations to household chemicals etc etc but you get used to it.. and NO SMELL whatsoever.

Knowing my shit does my garden good, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside

Ours is about $330 pa for licence and service contract combined. Don't forget you pay less rates for not having mains connections.

Default Re: Tank Water

We just had council out for our inspection - $150, yearly contract with the guys that maintain it was $240 for the year.

If you run out of water in your house tanks it costs $75 to fill up with 12,000 litres approx

I would also have a water filtration system on your kitchen taps - you fit it under the sink. Main reason for this is to keep water for cooking asclean as possible. Sometimes depending on leaf fall by the house the water gets discoloured due to rain washing colour out of leaves, lol remember having a bath at Dayboro and the water was yellow!!! Thats when i got the filtration thingy and it comes out clear as, cost $275 and about $60 yearly for new cartridges.
