I am currently working on an Event mod - release date unknown ( 2nd Feb 2010 )
I went into the Swedish Chemist and asked to buy some Deodorant. The lady said ( in swedish voice ) Ball or Aerosol .. I said "No for under my armpits you mucky cow "
I love Photorealism and Hyperrealism - some of the images these painters produce are amazing.
It's me
To be fair, a lot of this is done from actual photographs, and using software, and print techniques is converted.
I have a painting I just had to buy, called bubbles, it is of a nude woman ( just odd glimses of her form in a bubble bath ) no rude bits, but looks so real its untrue.
On closer examination ( its an OIL )
It is a print technique.
So yep, hoodwinked, but nonetheless pretty cool stuff

As you say with modern scanning and printing techniques there are lots of people who just produce oil-based copies of photographs but if you dig there are also a lot of very good artists in the field too. (That isn't to say that the best way to store an artist is to bury him in a field!)
I saw an exhibition a few years ago by painters in this field which blew me away. My favourite is Richard Estes. You can tell his stuff is painted as it doesn't quite have the hard/crispness of the hard-core photorealistic guys but this also adds a sort of warmth to the image. My personal favourite is his "Telephone Booths" see below.
