Caring for orphaned birds

It depends on what sort of parrot it is - nectar eating or a mixed diet. Do you know what it is?

Rainbow lorrikeet they told us tonight. Our friend is an animal behaviourist and told them off because (i) they are not native and treated as vermin and we are trying to exterminate them and (ii) it will now not be able to fend for itself. Our friend also told a mate that his "happy relaxed" rabbit is probably actually scared and playing dead and grassed up my wife for crashing her car last night. All this within 5 minutes of coming to our barbie!!! She is actually really nice but takes animal stuff very seriously.
