Default 3 years in Australia (& citizens in two weeks)

At 2.30pm today we will have been in Australia for 3 years. We haven’t had a minute’s regret. The nearest I can find to a negative is that I am not exactly loving my job (but then I never have and probably never will) and the commuting time means I have an hour or so less in the evenings than I did in the UK. But when the weekends come around I am in seventh heaven. Our lives now compare so favourably to what we used to have (and we were doing pretty well for ourselves in the UK) I have to pinch myself to make sure it is real. We have a pool, good weather, a boat, great friends and an active social life. We powerboat, scuba dive, sail, jetski, go off-road driving, go camping regularly, fish, have frequent barbies…

I love this country and will be so proud to call myself Australian when we do our citizenship ceremony two weeks tomorrow.
